Has anyone ever actually attempted to get the “Free” iPod/iPhone/xBox/Wii/$50 Chilis Gift Certificate online?

I know this may be a really dumb question and I’ve always ignored those ads that you see all the time where it’s like “FREE iPOD! Just answer some questions!” or whatever but started thinking about it and can they really just advertise “Free iPod” and then have no way for you to actually get one? Has anyone actually clicked those ads and done what they wanted you to do? Did you get an iPod? And was it, essentially, free? I think what they have you do is sign up for a bunch of free trials online or something but I’m not sure. Just wondering if anyone has ever tried it.
